GORAN BOGDANOVSKI

dancer, performer, choreographer, teacher, artistic director and curator.

 

As a performer he has worked successfully since 1989 with more than 70 choreographers and directors in many different fields of performing arts – classical ballet, physical theatre, contemporary dance, film and video. For over 10 years he was a soloist of the Slovene National Opera and Ballet Theater and parallely enjoyed a rich and versatile career of a freelance artist that brought him to work with many theater artists and contemporary choreographers from the Slovenian and European arts scene. Matjaž Pograjc & Betontanc, Dragan Živadinov, Milko Šparamblek, Francois Michele Pesenti, Ema Kugler, Janes Janša, Howard Katz Fireheart, among others. He also took part of research projects with Emio Greco, Josef Nadj, David Zambrano, Andrew L.Harwood ...to mention just some of them.

 

He has received the Triton Award 2000 for performance 1:0 and was chosen as 'dance artist of the year' in 2000 by the Slovenian weekly magazine Nedelo. He also received DanceWeb scholarship 2000, 2002 in Vienna; an Artslink Award 2003 in New York, a 2004 UNESCO Aschberg Award in Montreal ... among others.

 

Goran founded Fičo Balet in 2000, with which he has been developing his own style of expression.

For Fičo Balet to date, he choreographed 15 dance productions, headed five international research projects, curated 2 international dance festivals and created Fičo training a unique and inventive community dance form as ongoing long durational artistic - educational - social project in Ljubljana. He also toured extensively with his artistic works and gave workshops in 23 countries. 

 

In 2002 he opened up and managed Kino Šiška as a rehearsal space for contemporary dance and theatre in Ljubljana until renovation in 2008. In 2003 he launched with partners the first biannual Slovene dance platform Gibanica (Moving Cake). He is one of the initiators of NOMAD Dance Academy, educational and artistic research project launched in 2005 with partners from Slovenia, Croatia, Srebia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herecegovina and Bulgaria. Lately he is involved in establishing of Centre of contemporary dance arts in Ljubljana and creating a touring network throughout Slovenia with project Network of contemporary dance. He is also involved in Modul-dance project of European Dancehouse Network.

 

Since 2006 he had an opportunity to pass the knowledge and understanding of dance to more than 1000 participants and groups (dancers, actors, choreographers, students, artists, producers, pedagogues, CEO's, managers, professors, lawyers, economists, softwear designers, journalists, student, unemployed ... ) in a form of trainings, workshops, research projects, coaching and mentoring, in 23 countries. Beside regular teachings in Ljubljana Goran gave trainings and workshops for/at: ImpulsTanz Vienna (austria), TanzWerkstat Europa - Munich (germany), Ultima vez -Brussels (belgium), Art Research Institute / Ilia State University -Tbilsi (gruzija), K3 Tanzplan - Hamburg (germany), Rindge and Latin School - Cambridge) (usa), Dance Academy Conference - Odessa (ukraine), Secondary scholl for contemporary dance - Ljubljana (slovenia), Dance Theatre Ljubljana (slovenia), Station - Belgrade (serbia), Tanzelarija - Sarajevo (bosnia and hercegovina), Dance meeting Durres (albania), Teatr Narodowy Warsaw (poland), Silesian Dance Festival -Bytom (poland), Amarican-Czech Puppet Theatre - New York (usa), Green Street Studios - Boston (usa), Dancentrum - Istanbul (turkey), CCDC Cairo Contemporary Dance Center - Cairo (egypt) ...

 

 

 

SANDRA ANAIS

 

I am  culturologist and artist from Slovenia - working, researching and developing programs in a field of dance, which I understands as integrative field of artistic, scientific and spiritual practice. In short - a holistic experience for body - mind and spirit.  I am active mostly as a dancer, teacher, organizer ...sometimes producer, curator and coordinator of the festivals. I am currently exploring the physical practices of other cultures, embodiment of thoughts, contemporary performative practices and nomadism in relation with urban rituals, new age practices and creation of urban communities / tribes.
 
I studied contemporary dance, contact improvisation, dance improvisation, horton technique, jazz balet for more than 15 years with renowned pedagogues in Slovenia, Great Britain at LABAN, China, Austria and Georgia. In the field of dance and improvisation I was teaching in Slovenia, India, Indonesia - Bali, Vietnam and Croatia. I am also integrating knowledge of Kundalini & Dynamic Meditation, Dance Movement Therapy, Authentic Movement, Dervish and other practices into dance education. I am also a licensed pilates instructor.

Dance ecology, in addition to build a bridge between nature and culture through dance, also aims to expand the perception of contemporary dance practices in spiritual and emotional sense and encourages to revitalize forgotten wisdom of sacred traditions and bring them back in to dance education. It also raises the awareness of the need to transform the man through body work and through revival of poetic discourse and interdisciplinarity within different artistic practices.
